Hard day Headache

My energy levels are low this week.
I have been going to bed before 10 pm.
I wish I could say why.
I have been exercising but definitely not more than normal. In fact, a little less.
I have been parenting and I guess the 2 hour park visit which is pretty involved with a 9 month old was exhausting for a Monday afternoon but still not more than normal.

Tonight, it's worse.
My head is pounding. I haven't had a headache in awhile,
My eyes are dry.
My jaw is tight.  Every so often, there is a sharp piercing pain that rings through it for a few seconds.

It's been a hard week.
Tough conversations at work.
Passing on truths that may not want to be heard.
Asking probing questions that have been asked 100 times and still not answered.
Running into not enough time.
Not enough time.
Not enough time.
To do what we want to do.

  1. I hear you! In addition the air was horrible today, vacation is near, moving is stressy, and all that adds to your headachy feeling too.

  2. It sounds like you've come to the conclusion that work stress is the source of the headache, since the rest of your life seems fairly balanced with rest, and family, and outdoor time. Spring semester always seems to end up as "crunch time"; I feel it, even in the library. I hope some of those questions get answered, and that your headache goes away soon!

  3. I love you and ALL that you do! As a friend, as an educator who pushes us to be better teachers, as a coteacher who my kids adore, as a fantastic mommy. But our school is fast paced and stress and business are exhausting, pile on chasing after a small one at home and your mental energy is really the most draining. Here is hopefully to a great end to your week and wonderful, restful weekend!

  4. Hang in there! I hope sharing your story and the "why" behind your headache eased the pain a little! Best wishes for tomorrow.
